I am a visual artist working primarily in oil and watercolor. Born in Mississippi and based in Middle Tennessee since 1997, I was introduced to drawing and watercolor as a child by my mother. Though I set art aside for years to pursue practical work, retirement finally allows me to return to my passion.
Drawing remains the foundation of my work. While college studies in graphite and charcoal taught me the basics of value, shape, and proportion, color remains a challenge because of my mild color blindness. Today, my goal is to trust intuition over accuracy and embrace the colors that move me. Attracted by Traditional and Modern Impressionism, I am captivated by themes of solitude and connection—those quiet moments when the familiar suddenly feels different.
Working from my home studio, I continue to learn, experiment, and refine my visual voice. My work has been exhibited across Tennessee and Mississippi, including at the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center, South Jackson Performing Arts Center, the Art League of Cheatham County, Nashville’s Tomato Art Fest, and several Bedford Arts Collective exhibitions.
